This was a pivotal event in the Texas Revolution. Mexican troops under President General Antonio López de Santa Anna started a 13-day siege, reclaiming the Alamo Mission near San Antonio de Béxar (modern-day San Antonio, Texas, United States), Santa Anna's refusal to take prisoners during the battle, killing most of the occupants inside, inspired many Texians and Tejanos to join the Texian Army. Motivated by their written desire to preserve a border open to immigration, and a desire for revenge, the Texians defeated the Mexican Army at the Battle of San Jacinto, on April 21, 1836, ending the rebellion in favor of the newly formed Republic of Texas.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1018/0414/7022/files/the-alamo-final-assault_T_2_D_66985_I_6517_G_0_V_2.jpg?v=1783611148
rorkes-drift-men-of-harlech-dvg-game
Rorkes Drift Men of Harlech DVG Game

Welcome to the new Heroic Stand Series of Solitaire games from DVG!

One of the most famous battles of the Zulu war, a small band of British defended against thousands of Zulu warriors. The successful British defense of the mission station of Rorke's Drift, began when a large contingent of Zulu warriors broke off from their main force at the day-long Battle of Isandlwana on 22 January 1879, diverting 6 miles (9.7 km) to attack the British, under the command of Lieutenants John Chard of the Royal Engineers and Gonville Bromhead, 24th Regiment of Foot at Rorke's Drift later that day and continuing into the following day. The massive but piecemeal attacks by the Zulu on Rorke's Drift came very close to defeating the much smaller garrison, but were consistently repelled. Just over 150 British and colonial troops defended the station against attacks by 3,000 to 4,000 Zulu warriors. Eleven Victoria Crosses were awarded among the defenders, along with a number of other decorations and honors.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1018/0414/7022/files/rorkes-drift-men-of-harlech_T_2_D_66988_I_6518_G_0_V_2.jpg?v=1783611149
thermopylae-the-hot-gates-dvg-game
Thermopylae The Hot Gates DVG Game

Welcome to the new Heroic Stand Series of Solitaire games from DVG!

Commonly known as the Stand of the 300, Thermopylae was an amazing battle. The Athenian politician and general Themistocles proposed that the allied Greeks block the advance of the Persian army at the pass of Thermopylae.

Around the start of the invasion, a Greek force of approximately 7,000 men led by Leonidas marched north to block the pass of Thermopylae against the Persian army, with between 120,000 and 300,000 soldiers. The outnumbered Greeks held them off for seven days (including three of direct battle) before their rear-guard was annihilated in one of history's most famous last stands. The Greeks blocked the only road by which the massive Persian army could traverse the narrow pass for two full days of battle,

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1018/0414/7022/files/thermopylae-the-hot-gates_T_2_D_66989_I_6519_G_0_V_2.jpg?v=1783611150
